Don’t expect a sign saying hotel or a buttoned up doorman as The Zetter Townhouse sits quietly and discreetly behind a pale blue door with two neatly trimmed trees on either side. No reception or desk either as you step straight into what could be your slightly eccentric aunties’s front room. You can almost hear a big grandfather clock ticking, the clinking of china on a tea tray or being asked to take your shoes off ;) Think heavy velvet, vases, china dogs, mounted fish, leather backed books and plenty of sink-in comfy chairs but even better is the direct vieuw of the cocktail lounge and its bottles and bow tied bartender which gets you in the mood nice and early for those pre dinner drinks. The Zetter's handful of un-hotellish rooms are as full of character as the lounge and are all decorated differently with antique and reclaimed furniture, beautiful Gainsborough fabrics and plenty of colour and quirky details to remind you you're staying in a one of a kind place.
In your room you’ll find a handwritten note thanking you for your stay which almost makes you want to write back. Waking up in a four poster bed and spending the morning shuffling around in super fluffy slippers & robe drinking tea from china cups made it pretty tough to slip back into normal London life..
