Take a break from the city on the banks of the Seine by heading to El Alamein.. The coolest barge on the river is bright purple and covered from bow to stern with terracotta pots of bright red tulips and leafy plants.. At night the deck is lit by cozy lanterns and inside is just as inviting with its ethnic style and abundance of cushions and color.. Wonderfully eccentric El Alamein opens at 16.30 and live bands play in the belly of the boat from 9pm.. They have flyers stuck to the lamppost out front or check online for this boat's eclectic program.. Mostly jazz, world and old style 'chansons Françaises'..
Bask in the late afternoon sun or sip away summer evenings while listening to little waves lapping against the hull..
